The Southern Ohio Museum announces its first annual Cream of the Concerts as a musical complement to the biennial Cream of the Crop exhibition. This concert series will feature some of the best musical talent on the local scene. The concerts will be held every Saturday during the month of July in the Museum’s Hopkins Theatre at 7:30 p.m.

The World Championship of Cornhole is considered to be one of the top 'doubles' cornhole tournaments in the nation and this year, the event is going to be bigger and better than ever before.  Downtown streets of Portsmouth, Ohio, will be blocked off as cornholers from all around the country battle it out to see who will be the World Champions of Cornhole! The best part, we encourage everyone to play!

If you love the game of cornhole, or even if you just like it, this is the event for you! Just think, you could become The World Champion of Cornhole! Or at least you could play and take home the official t-shirt.  Make the drive to the historic river town of Portsmouth, Ohio, for a day of exciting cornhole, music, food and fun. Better yet, spend a weekend and explore all the activities and attractions the area has to offer.

The PSO Board has worked hard to bring to Southern Ohio a performing organization worthy of being called a symphony orchestra. Additionally, we from time to time have the added pleasures of the Portsmouth Community Chorale and Director, Charles Varney.

For years the Scioto County Fair has being among the best in the state.  Every year, the Fair Board continues to try to top themselves from the year prior.  The fair is filled with all sorts of events and activities for people of all ages.  There are daily concerts by the bands from the schools around the area, as well as nightly concerts by artists that The Board has brought in.  The fair has multiple 4-H competitions that some people have prepared years for.  With kid and adult rides, as well as fun games that cover the fairgrounds, the Scioto County Fair is an enjoyable time for the whole family. The Miss America Organization is a not-for-profit organization that has maintained a tradition for many decades of empowering young women to achieve their personal and professional goals while providing a forum in which to express their opinions, talent, and intelligence. Scholarships have been the cornerstone of the Miss America program since 1945 when Bess Myerson was first Miss America to receive a scholarship from the organization.
